“I painted this whilst on a week’s painting trip, staying in a cottage on the road that runs along the edge of Crummock Water.
Having observed the subject the day before, I knew just the time to catch the sunlight moving across the lake.
Fortunately there was a break in the cloud at the right time and I was able to paint the light reflecting on the water, whilst picking out the autumn colour against the mountains.”
